Originally from England, Susi Lovell lived in Austria, South Africa, Colombia and Australia before settling in Montreal.
Susi started writing fiction after more than thirty years as a freelance dance and movement artist-educator, and a spell writing on dance for the Montreal Gazette. Her stories have appeared in The New Quarterly, Stand Magazine, carte blanche, Grain (2011 second runner-up in the Short Grain fiction contest), Fiddlehead (2010 honorable mention in their short fiction contest), Kudzu Review, and other literary journals and anthologies. She has recently completed her first collection of short stories and novella and is now working on an environmental mystery novel.
Susi has an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Lesley University, MA, an M.A. in Contemporary Dance from the Université du Québec à Montréal, and a B.A. in German language and literature with a minor in Russian from the University of Toronto. She is a member of the Board of the Quebec Writers’ Federation.
