An exhibition of acrylic paintings by Wendy A. Thomas at VOART, the Centre d'exposition de Val-d'Or. The gallery is open from Wednesday to Friday, from 13:00-18:00, and Saturday and Sunday, from 13:00 to 16:00. There is ample parking and ramp access to the main entrance.

This series of semi-abstract acrylic paintings is inspired by images taken from airplanes, by close-up photos of gravel on sidewalks, and by elements of the artist’s urban environment. The works explore and challenge the sense of scale and first impressions, and create an interplay between abstraction and actual sites. The paintings invite one to look beyond both the surface and one’s first impression to recognize other interpretations and realities. One can find beauty and diversity in something as simple as what one walks on or passes by in daily life.
