Deanna Smith is a poet, performer, and educator. She loves words and the power they have to create growth, and change. Deanna is a public speaker and facilitates workshops on the topics of creative writing, poetry, spoken word/slam, and anti-racism/anti-bias. She holds a B.A. in Linguistics, an M.Sc. in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and a GradCert in Creative Writing. Deanna is a former Montreal Slam Champion and director of the Ile-Ife Africana Studies Collection.
