In La forêt noire, Anna Jane McIntyre offers a multimedia installation that examines memory and human nature through an abstract sound environment, a shadowy forest of printed trees and a magical hunter's cabin. The artist invites visitors to wander in this dark setting against a background of incomplete stories, secrets, homage, symbolic crossroads and cultural dreams. Combining British, Trinidadian and Canadian cultural aesthetics McIntyre's projects explore the ways in which individuals perceive themselves, create their identities, maintain and evolve their definitions of self through behaviour and visual cues.
