Caile Donaldson

-Currently being represented as an author by Helen Heller Agency. 

-My 1st novel is being published with Palimpsest Press, Fall 2019

-Summer 2016, won full scholarship to Cuttyhunk Island’s writing retreat and studied under Pulitzer-prize winner Paul Harding and award-winning Margot Livesy

-Summer 2015, won partial scholarship to study English Literature program in Lisbon, Portugal, as part of Disquiet Literary Retreat, studied under NYU professor Maaza Mengiste, and award-winner Dennis Johnson


-From 2010 to 2015, I contributed in a professional capacity as a music journalist, political writer and columnist to CULT Montreal, MV Remix Rock, Vancouver Weekly, Vancouver’s Social Coast, LYF Victoria, Forget the Box, and Montreal’s Bandmark, among others.

My duties included: Managing Instagram accounts, writing copy, utilizing SEO, photo editing and photography, attending events in a journalistic capacity, writing and posting previews, managing the backend of a blog, and meeting deadlines.

November 2015: Short story published by McGill University’s Scrivner Review

January 2014: Poem published by Lantern Magazine

November-March 2012: Completed a five-month entrepreneurial program through Ethos Youth Means Business in Victoria, B.C. that taught me how to be the editor of an independent arts publication, giving me funding to return to school and take further journalism education.

March 2011: Short story published by Victoria’s Island Writer

Fall 2007: Chosen as semi-finalist for The Walrus Magazine’s short fiction contest, of which Douglas Coupland was judge
